Safe Sedation Options for a Stress-Free Visit

To help your child enjoy a calm and relaxed experience, we offer a range of safe sedation options. We will take the time to discuss your child’s needs and medical history with you to determine the most appropriate choice.

Nitrous Oxide (“Laughing Gas”)

This is a popular and very safe option for all ages. Administered through a comfortable nose mask, the gas helps your child feel completely relaxed and calm while remaining conscious. The effects wear off within minutes of the mask being removed, with no lingering side effects.

Oral Sedation

For children who have difficulty sitting still or for more involved procedures, oral sedation provides a deeper level of relaxation. Your child will remain awake but will feel calm and peaceful throughout the treatment. They may experience some grogginess afterward, which typically wears off within a few hours.

General Anesthesia (Sleep Dentistry)

For complex procedures or for children who cannot tolerate treatment while awake, general anesthesia allows them to sleep safely through their appointment. This can be performed in our in-office medical suite or at the hospital. Our compassionate dentists will provide detailed instructions to help your child during the recovery period.
